Some of the most incisive commentary on Vista so far, courtesy of Simon Travaglia at The Register

“So you like Vista?”

“Not really, no. I run a Vista simulator.”

“Virtual Server?” the Boss asks.

“Nah, I just turned on all the flashy crap in XP, changed the background image, took some memory out of my box and clocked down the CPU. Then broke Media player. Works like a charm.”

Genius.

I find it mildy amusing that since I’ve been playing World of Warcraft, I have not bought a single game for my PC. Games for my PCs were the only reason I ever upgraded my PC (my graphics software runs very nicely thankyou). My last upgrade was powered by the desire to run Oblivion at full spec.

Anyway – here’s the amusing bit. Microsoft thought that they could ‘persuade’ (read, “bully”) me into upgrading to Vista by denying me DX10 if I stick with XP. Oh no… no more new games for my PC if they need DX10… oh wait, I play WoW now, so who cares? Ha ha ha, up yours Microsoft. I bet you wish you were Blizzard right now, don’t you?
